Then, Reverend Lian Jie, accompanied by Dharma Assistant Yue Hua, led the group in the ritual. The entire group was filled with the sound of Sanskrit chants and the harmonious ringing of bells, drums and chimes, creating an atmosphere of immense solemnity. Incense curled upward from the incense burner, mingling with the sunlight. Everyone sensed the joy of Grand Master, the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Dharma Protectors accepting the offerings. After the practice concluded, Reverend Lian Jie praised several volunteer fellows. Some had tirelessly rushed to the temple early in the morning to help prepare the offerings; others, despite illness, persisted in their work for the temple, contributing to the success of the offering.

After the offering, everyone hurriedly removed the offerings and shared their own offerings: lamb chops, steak, braised pork, fish, noodles, porridge, dumplings, cakes, bread and a variety of desserts, making today’s lunch particularly sumptuous and delicious. Sunlight shone obliquely into the dining room, casting long shadows. Laughter, chatting, and the clinking of dishes and chopsticks intertwined, forming a stark contrast to the solemnity of the offering. Everyone’s faces were filled with satisfaction. This offering had purified their souls while allowing them to enjoy delicious food from all over the world.
