True Buddha School Refuge and Aspiration

I voluntarily take refuge in the Buddha’s teachings, joining True Buddha School. I sincerely take refuge in the root lineage master, Living Buddha Lian Sheng, and pledge to dedicate my entire life to good deeds, upholding the Dharma and precepts, respecting the teacher, valuing the Dharma, and practicing sincerely. I will be loyal to my country, filial to my parents, and respectful towards my elders and fellow practitioners, following this path unwaveringly for my entire life.

Important of Refuge

Some people think that as long as I keep good thoughts, believe in Buddha, recite Buddha’s name, and worship Buddha, it doesn’t matter if I don’t take refuge. However, they don’t understand that this is just an external practice of Buddhism. To step into the true door of Buddhism, you need to “cultivate within” , this kind of internal cultivation is a long-term training, and it must be guided by a real vajra master. Only after you take refuge can you get the “mind method” of inner cultivation taught by Vajra Master.

In Buddhism Tantra, the initiation has great merits. This initiation can elevate ordinary people to Buddhist disciples at once. It also means that all the Buddhas are very kind and compassionate, and have given their imprints and enlightenments, and have obtained the Dharma. From the initial intention to Acharya, they have completed the refuge initiation ritual and formally started to practice. They are the “post-replenishing Buddhas” who have cultivated themselves to perfection.

Tantra attaches great importance to “inheritance” and the guru’s “inheritance and blessing”. Without the inheritance and blessing, practicing Tantric Dharma will never be able to cope. To enter the “True Buddha Sect” and practice the “True Buddha Tantric Dharma”, you must first take refuge and receive initiation. Only then can it be considered a formal entry.

Why is Living Buddha Liansheng the object of refuge?

He is a saint who is completely freed from fear and afflictions.
He is a great being with the power to liberate others from suffering.
He has compassion for all sentient beings and a great vow to save them.
He is a saint who has attained both theoretical and practical enlightenment. In the vast domain of the Buddha Dharma, he can guide you on the most skillful and swift path.

For disciples wishing to take refuge, they should face the direction of the rising sun at 7 a.m. on the first or fifteenth day of the lunar month, join their palms together, and recite the Four Refuge Mantras:

“Namo Guru Bei.”
“Namo Buddha Ye.”
“Namo Dharma Ye.”
“Namo Sangha Ye.”
“Living Buddha Liansheng guides. I take refuge in the True Buddha.”

Recite three times and bow three times.

After completing the refuge ceremony at home, Living Buddha Liansheng will perform a “remote empowerment” ceremony for those who have taken refuge by correspondence, held on the first or fifteenth day of each month. This is the way to receive the transmission from Living Buddha Liansheng.

Note:
The True Buddha School welcomes everyone to attend and learn at their cultivation centers. However, to truly enter the path of Dharma practice, one must take refuge and receive empowerment to fulfill the conditions for progress.

For those who have not yet taken refuge, they can begin by patiently holding the Lotus Boy Mantra, and through heartfelt practice and perception, come to seek refuge and empowerment later.

Short Mantra: “Om Guru Liansheng Siddhi Hum.”
Long Mantra: “Om Ah Hum. Guru Bei. Ah He Sha Sha Ma Ha. Liansheng Siddhi Hum.”
