Report from Melbourne Yanming Leizang Temple

Since the World Committee of True Buddha School announced that the Grand Dharma Puja Assembly for the Golden Mother of the Jade Pond to Supplicate the Buddha to Stay in the Saha World will be held online on May 18 this year, all committee members and volunteers of Yen Ming Temple have been busy preparing for this grand event to celebrate the 81st birthday of our root guru, the Holy Living Buddha Lian-sheng. Every volunteer wants to take this special opportunity to do their best for our most beloved Grand Master, and to express the disciples’ most sincere respect and love for Grand Master with practical actions.

As the general director of the Puja, Shi Lian Jie fashi, the resident monk of Yen Ming Temple, with the help of fellow volunteers, printed out clear and complete Chinese and English rituals for the participants in a very short timeframe; trained the volunteers for the Puja procedure, and provided food and holy water for the Puja; purchased Puja offering goods; designed the mandala, including the plate arrangement and flower arrangement, etc., which was really comprehensive. Shi Lian Jie fashi even prepared a small gift for each participant, and everyone was happy to receive the gift.

On the day of the Puja, the sun shone on the land that had been moistened by the nourishing rain overnight, and the air seemed particularly fresh and cool. Although the temperature dropped sharply on that day, it could not deter the urgent hearts of the True Buddha fellows in Melbourne to pray for the root guru. Everyone flocked to Yen MingTemple from all directions, offering their carefully made offerings, and participating in this significant Puja with a pious heart.

Yen MingTemple specially invited Master Shi Lian Qi Vajra from Brisbane, Australia to host this grand offering at the main altar, and Shi Lian Jie fashi guarded the altar. The Dharma Assembly kicked off under the guidance of the streaming online temple ceremony. The venue was packed. Participants lit candles and prayed to the main Buddha of the offering, Golden Mother of the Jade Pond, for the health of our great holy Grand Master and his longevity; and prayed for Shimu to eliminate her illness and be healthy. Unknowingly, the night fell, and the more than two-hour Dharma Assembly came to a successful end with the solemn ritual. After the Dharma Assembly, Yen Ming Temple was still brightly lit under the night sky, and many volunteers and fellow believers stayed in the temple to help clean up the venue.

Yen Ming Temple once again cooperated with Melbourne Lotus Light Charity Society to donate Dharma offerings, such as rice, canned food and other foods, to the Food Bank Victoria to benefit local vulnerable groups. Thank you to all the fellow believers who participated in supporting this offering and even sponsored the rice and Dharma Assembly offerings!
